Cabinet sources said that President Mohamed Morsy objected to certain ministers that Prime Minister-designate Hesham Qandil suggested for the new government on Saturday, and requested they be replaced.
Meanwhile, a leading figure of the Salafi Nour Party, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said no minister from the Salafi movement was nominated for the new government, although Morsy had promised the party three ministries.
Hany Mahmoud, former director of the Information and Decision Support Center, was nominated for the Ministry of Communications, and Osama Abu Talb, a professor at the Academy of Arts, for Culture Minister.
Qandil also met with Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, the former Minister of Tourism, who had earlier declined to remain in office.
It is expected that the Ministry of Information will be replaced by the so-called National Council for Information.
Also, Ziad Bahaa Eddin, a member of the Social Democratic Party and former head of the Financial Supervisory Authority, declined to participate in the new government.
