The Cairo Opera House on Sunday will host a huge concert as part of the “Saudi Egyptian Nights” concert series, under the patronage of the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia Turki al-Sheikh, and in coordination with Egypt’s Minister of Culture Nevine al-Kilany.
Several big stars will participate in the first concert including Mohamed Mounir, Sherine Abdel-Wahab, and Majid al-Muhandis.
The concerts follow after Turki al-Sheikh’s meeting with the Minister of Culture, where they agreed that opera nights would be launched in Saudi Arabia with Egyptian troupes, and Saudi nights in the Egyptian opera with Saudi troupes.
Kilany noted the strength of relations between the two countries, adding that her ministry welcomes all cooperation with the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia.
“Artistic and cultural cooperation with the Kingdom extends over many decades,” she said.
