NASL calls for protests on Wednesday

The Muslim Brotherhood-led National Alliance to Support Legitimacy (NASL) has called for new wave of protests against the interim authorities in Egypt that toppled the former President Mohamed Morsy in 2013.

The call comes in the wake of death sentence given to 529 Muslim Brotherhood suspects, over involvement in riots that followed dispersal of the pro-Morsy sit-ins in August.

The alliance addressed revolutionaries in a statement calling for a positive revolutionary escalation against police and military.

“Let Wednesday be a memorable revolutionary day within the second revolutionary wave. Let the rallies flock to the revolution squares nationwide with slogan ‘Along toward salvation’. Let squares of Tahrir, Rabaa al-Adaweya and Nahda be the target of our events without a sit-in. The final decision at the three squares will be up to you according to circumstances,” it said.
