Navy seizes smuggled drug shipment in Red Sea

Egypt’s navy seized a boat in the Red Sea while carrying a large amount of drugs, the Armed Forces’ spokesperson Colonel Tamer al-Refaei announced on Thursday morning on his official Facebook page.
The naval forces received information about smugglers planning to bring a large shipment of drugs into Egypt’s territorial waters in the Red Sea on a fishing boat, the statement read.
Refaei added that naval units were immediately dispatched to the reported location of the boat where the drug shipment was found upon inspection.
Legal action has been taken, Refaei said.
