Mahmoud Nafady, spokesperson for the Nedaa Masr Coalition, said on Thursday that the High Elections Committee has already prepared the schedule for the next parliamentary elections.
He said candidacy applications would start on 3 January for two weeks, while the first phase of the elections would be held mid-February.
“The committee will determine the conditions required for list-based applications in accordance with Article 9 of the House of Representatives Law No. 46/2014,” he said.
He added that candidates will have to prove they are eligible in accordance with the classifications stated in the Constitution. “For the first time, all candidates will have to submit financial disclosure declarations for themselves, their spouses and their minor children,” he added.
