The Minya Criminal Court has sentenced nine Muslim Brotherhood members to 21 years of hard labor in absentia for rioting and violence in Mallawi city, south of Minya.
The court accused the suspects of joining a terrorist group, inciting violence and rioting, as well as protesting against the police and the Armed Forces.
The Prosecution had accused the suspects of assaulting security troops after staging marches against police and military in November, in addition to possessing flyers that incite violence and rioting.
