No lasting peace without resolving the Palestinian cause: Sisi sends firm message to Israel

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warned that the Middle East will not experience lasting peace until Israel’s occupation of Palestine is brought to an end.

Without this critical step “neither popular normalization nor true stability will ever be achieved”, the President stressed.

Speaking at the official inauguration of the State’s New Strategic Command Headquarters on Saturday, President Sisi affirmed that Egypt—drawing upon its deep-seated vision and unparalleled historical experience in regional affairs as the first Arab nation to sign a peace treaty with Israel during a time of deep-rooted hostility—maintains that the fundamental solution to Middle East conflicts lies in reaching a comprehensive and just peace agreement.

This agreement must resolve the Palestinian cause and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with resolutions of international legitimacy.

“There can be no permanent peace, no real stability, and no popular normalization without a just peace that ends the occupation, puts a stop to injustice and aggression, and restores rights to their legitimate owners,” the President asserted.

He further stressed that this step would guarantee “security for all, grant the peoples of the region the opportunity to live in stability and prosperity, and initiate a new era of cooperation, growth, and a better future that our peoples truly deserve.”

Safeguarding regional agreements

President al-Sisi also underscored the absolute necessity of supporting the diplomatic agreements concerning Gaza and Iran.

He insisted on their full implementation, calling for a firm stance against any attempts to disrupt, bypass, or undermine them.

The president noted that Egypt has exerted exhaustive efforts to halt conflicts, de-escalate tensions, and prevent bloodshed in the region, reaffirming that Egypt will consistently remain “a safe haven in a turbulent neighborhood.”

A state-of-the-art command center and military showcase

President Sisi’s remarks came during the official inauguration ceremony of the Strategic Command Headquarters in the New Administrative Capital on Saturday.

The grand event featured a majestic military parade showcasing formations from various branches of the Egyptian Armed Forces.

The inauguration proceedings included military alignments and demonstrations of modern weaponry and hardware.

Attended by senior state officials and top military leadership, the ceremony allowed President Sisi to observe tactical displays highlighting the high combat readiness and exceptional efficiency of the Egyptian military.

The Strategic Command Headquarters stands as one of the most prominent military infrastructure undertakings within the New Administrative Capital.

The facility is designed to provide an advanced system for managing strategic operations, bolster command-and-control frameworks, and enhance coordination among state institutions during crises and emergencies—thereby ensuring rapid decision-making and the capacity to handle diverse security and strategic scenarios.
