News circulated widely over the past few days regarding a ceremony for the 2025 Grammy Awards being held at the foot of the Pyramids on October 22.
However, the official Grammy website clarified that the nominations for the global awards will be announced on November 7 via a live broadcast on their official YouTube channel, leading to public confusion about the nature of the anticipated event in Egypt.
A source from the event management team clarified to ET Bil Arabi that the function being held at the Pyramids is unrelated to the main global Grammy Awards ceremony, explaining that some media outlets reported the news inaccurately.
The source revealed that the event is being organized by the owner of the Grammy Awards rights and will feature the launch of a new, dedicated Middle East award that will officially be presented in 2026. Details of this new award will be announced during a private dinner held at the event itself.
The ceremony is slated to include a special musical segment by renowned composer Omar Khairat, along with performances by several other artists.
Invitations have been extended to a large group of singing stars and music industry leaders in the region, including Amr Diab—who is attempting to coordinate his schedule to attend despite a prior engagement in El Gouna—along with Tamer Hosny and other prominent figures in the Arab music scene.
