Palestinian-Israeli state would help restore security in Middle East: President Sisi

 

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stated on Sunday that Egypt supports efforts to resume the peace process between Palestine and Israel in establishing the two-state solution, the official spokesperson of the Egyptian Presidency Bassam Radi said on Sunday.

During a meeting with the head of the World Jewish Congress Ronald Lauder, Sisi referred to importance of forming a new status-quo that would restore stability in the Middle East.

Sisi stressed the need for reconciliation between Palestinian factions and the return of the Palestinian Authority to govern the Gaza strip, which would would revive negotiations between Palestine and Israel.

Radi added that Sisi showed Egypt’s keenness in developing strategic relations with the United States and continuously communicating with different parts of the USA.

Lauder praised the strong relations between Egypt and United States, and expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s efforts to battle terrorism.

He also complimented Egypt’s achievements this year, saying that the country witnessed economic developments which have contributed in attracting foreign investments.
