The Presidential Elections Commission (PEC), head by Judge Anwar al-Rashad al-Asy, announced on Friday the official list of candidates for the presidential elections, scheduled to be held on May 26 and 27.
The list includes former Defense Minister Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil al-Sisi and founder of the Polpular Current and leflist candidate Hamdeen Abdel Aaty Abdel Maqdoud Sabbahi.
The PEC will publish the list of candidates in the official newspaper and Al-Ahram and Al-Akhbar newspapers Saturday.
Campaigning for both candidates will officially start on Saturday and will continue until 23 May, two days before the elections.
