Petroleum min., Japanese amb. discuss arrangements for Arab-Japan Economic Forum

CAIRO, June 11 (MENA) – Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek el-Molla discussed with Japanese ambassador in Cairo Oka Hiroshi ongoing arrangements for Arab-Japan Economic Forum, set for the Japanese capital, Tokyo, on July 10.

In statements Tuesday, Molla stressed the depth and strength of relations binding Egypt and Japan, noting that the forum would offer an opportunity to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in the fields of clean energy, digital transformation, as well as securing energy supplies.

For his part, the Japanese ambassador invited the minister of petroleum to participate in the ministerial session of the forum, noting that it would be held in coordination with the Arab League and would witness wide participation from a cluster of experts in the economic, finance, business domains, along with representatives of international companies and the private sector.

He said the forum will discuss ways of economic development and sustainability between Arab countries and Japan and will address energy security for all parties and ways to confront challenges, including climate change, application of digital technologies, digital infrastructure, reducing emissions and other global trends.
