The US Department of State has published photos of Egyptian military personnel joining the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, emphasizing that this is a highly crucial contribution from a nation neighboring the Palestinian enclave.
On Friday, the US State Department’s account on the ‘X’ platform posted: “The Board of Peace: Egypt’s contributions will support the operations of the International Stabilization Force aimed at enhancing stability and security in the Gaza Strip.”
It added: ‘As a country neighboring the Strip, Egypt’s participation and leadership in this joint effort are vital to the success of the mission.”
A UN-mandated, multinational peacekeeping force was created as part of Gaza’s post-war transition following a late-2025 ceasefire.

The UN Security Council-backed international body is responsible for managing Gaza’s transition, coordinating global funding, and overseeing humanitarian reconstruction.
As a key neighbor bordering Gaza, Egypt acts as a core pillar of the ISF.

Cairo advocates for a strict focus on peacekeeping—such as securing borders and training local Palestinian police—to ensure that ultimate governance remains in Palestinian hands.
