The media adviser to Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Hany Younis, published several photos to Facebook of a coronavirus quarantine hospital on Tuesday.
Younis said the hospital received one foreign national, who was provided with hotel accommodation and a translator.
Younis thanked everyone for faithfully serving and protecting Egypt in this difficult time.
The Health Ministry advised citizens to head to specialized hospitals if they feel a rise in temperature to conduct all necessary tests.
The number of confirmed positive cases in Egypt reached 59 on Monday, the health ministry announced, with the latest being three Egyptians and one foreigner.
Test results for twenty quarantined patients came back negative, the ministry said.
Egypt is fully transparent regarding cases in the country, and follows international health regulations in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO), the WHO’s representative to Egypt John Jabbour said Sunday.
Egypt’s first confirmed death from the virus was a 60-year-old German tourist, who was taken to a hospital in Hurghada where he passed away.
