Eighty-three world beauty queens visited the temples of Luxor and Karnak on Friday as part of the Miss World Competition 2018 for Tourism and Environment hosted by Egypt.
The competition’s jury is composed of competition organizer Amal Rizk, Miss World for Tourism and the Environment for 2017 Amber Bernachi, producer Tamer Naeem, and Lebanese fashion designer Ayman Seri Eddin.
The beauty queens visited the temples of Karnak and Luxor in the east bank of Luxor to enjoy the charm of the ancient Pharaonic civilization, and also crossed the Kabash road of Luxor Temple where they took photos with the new statue which will be inaugurated on Friday afternoon by Antiquities Minister Khaled al-Anani, said the beauty pageants’ tour guide al-Tayyeb Abdallah.
Abdallah added that the beauty queens showed great interest in the historical Pharaonic temples and the historical pillars which have been stable for thousands of years until now.
They confirmed that after the 2018 Miss Environment and Tourism competition, hosted by the city of Marsa Alam overlooking the Red Sea, they will visit Luxor again, and will call their friends in all countries of the world to visit the ancient monuments of Egypt, Abdallah said.
The competition is organized by EcoSpaire in cooperation with the Tourism Promotion Authority and the United Nations.
