Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala al-Saeed has said the economic and social development plan for the fiscal year 2024/2025 targets a growth rate reaching 4.2 percent.
Following the Council of Ministers approval during a meeting Thursday of the economic and social development plan for the fiscal year 2024-2025, the minister of planning and economic development said that the main pillars of the plan include six axes; constitutional entitlements, Egypt’s Vision 2030, the National Program for Structural Reforms, the General State Planning Law, the National Human Rights Strategy and the State Ownership Policy Document.
The minister shed light on principles governing the plan that are compatible with the updated Egypt’s Vision 2030, including, improving the standard of living of all social groups, by providing quality education, training, and refining skills to qualify citizens for future jobs that depend on scientific research and innovation.
Saeed also accentuated the necessity of providing adequate health insurance and achieving justice, so that all citizens, especially the most-in-need segments of society enjoy all political, economic, social, religious and cultural rights and at the meantime ensure that they have the same opportunities to access all public services and the ability to face challenges and benefit from new opportunities by creating an enabling environment to enhance innovation for the sake of a better future.
She also pointed out to the importance of developing a number of scientific scenarios for crisis management envisaging making data and information available to determine appropriate adaptation options and meeting the needs of the present, while ensuring the rights of future generations by enhancing resource efficiency, consumption patterns and sustainable production.
