PM inspects SCOV pavilion at 2023 Sports Expo

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Osama Rabie, and Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy inspected on Wednesday, the Suez Canal Authority’s Olympic Village pavilion at the 2023 Sports Expo.

This event is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the first time in Egypt.

It runs from February 22 to 25, 2023, at the Egypt International Exhibitions Center in the Fifth Settlement, Cairo.

The officials inspected the maquette of the Suez Canal Olympic Village (SCOV).

They experienced a virtual live user immersion inside the SCOV through the advanced models provided by virtual reality technology.

Madbouly praised the Olympic Village of the Suez Canal Authority, saying it embodies the interest of Egypt in establishing a high-level sports infrastructure to become a new destination for hosting local, regional and international tournaments.

Sobhy expressed his appreciation for the Suez Canal Authority’s keenness to sponsor an integrated sports system in the Suez Canal area.

This includes sports facilities, sports activities and the industry of creating champions.

He continued by saying stressing that the 2023 Sports Expo was a good opportunity that allows exposure of the capabilities and components of Egypt’s sports system.

 Rabie has confirmed that the Suez Canal Authority pays great attention to developing its sports system as part of the Egyptian government’s efforts to develop the infrastructure of sports.

They would like to achieve this in a way that enhances the societal role of the authority in the Canal area.

The SCOV pavilion attracted visitors who are interested in sports locally, regionally and internationally, such as Rui Vitoria, coach of Egypt’s national football team.

The SCOV pavilion opens its doors to visitors throughout the exhibition days, from 10 am to 8 pm.
