Major Genenral Khalil Harb, Suez's security director, said on Friday that a live broadcasting unit belonging to Al Jazeera news channel was detected on a high-rise building in the governorate.
Police moved in and seized the device. Authorities from the Third Field Army and police also arrested a young man who possessed a video camera allegedly containing footage of a number of military installations.
The government has cracked down on the Al Jazeera network as opponents to ousted President Mohamed Morsy have claimed the channel is pro-Brotherhood propaganda. The channel's license was revoked and the channel is now heavily restricted within Egypt.
