Giza governorate has completed the counting of the votes on the new constitution on Thursday, according to CBC TV.
The results were as follows:
Number of participants: 1,507,416
Number of votes in favor of the constitution: 1,459,201
Number of votes against the constitution: 29,461
Number of invalid votes: 18,754
Counting in all polling stations began on Wednesday evening.
In the upcoming days, international election observers monitoring the constitutional referendum will release their assessments to bring clarity and transparency to the process. Many have complained of violations, such as judges campaigning to voters, polls being closed early and activists being arrested for campaigning for a boycott or a "no" vote on the referendum.
