Presidential advisor Ayman Ali has said that President Morsy prefers to die standing in defense of the legitimacy he was granted than to have history blame him for wasting Egyptians' hopes for democracy.
“I do not think that the president is clinging to power so much as he is upholding legitimacy and defending democracy,” Ali told Reuters. “He does not want to be blamed by future generations for having wasted the chance to establish a sound democratic system.
