Presidential palace employee convicted of indecency

Qalyub Misdemeanour Court on Wednesday sentenced a presidential palace employee to six months in prison or an LE1000 fine for committing an indecent act with a woman on the ring road in the Nile Delta city of Qalyub.

Prosecutors had detained Ehab Ahmed and the woman for four days pending investigations after a police patrol found them in an " indecent position."

In his testimony, the defendant denied the charges, claiming he was on his way home from work when he saw a female neighbor on the street and stopped to give her a ride. The woman, who police said has a record of prostitution, also denied the charges and was convicted.
