Private sector investments in 2015-2016 plan up to 70%

Nihal al-Megharbel, senior advisor to the planning minister, said the government is putting the final touches to the 2015-2016 social and economic reform plan, noting that investments by the private sector constitute 70 percent of the plan.

She explained that the most important parts of the plan are the programs of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, such as the million acre project, the road network, the million low and middle-income housing units, the sewage and water works and the renewable energy projects.

Megharbel also said that the plan increases investments in the education, scientific research and health sectors in accordance with the Constitution, adding that the public sector projects that were agreed during the Sharm El-Sheikh economic conference would also be included in the plan.

She said the ministry has devised a new monitoring system to remove any obstacles that may impede the completion of projects.
