Pro-Sabbahi campaign calls on NSF to back revolutionary presidential hopeful

The “Revolution's Candidate” campaign, a pro-former presidential hopeful Hamdeen Sabbahi campaign, called on the National Salvation Front and political forces to back a revolutionary civilian candidate for the upcoming presidential elections to realize the objectives of the revolution.

The most important condition in any candidate is to be a civilian who has a history of struggle and who comes from the heart of the revolutionary forces, the campaign said in a statement Friday.

“The campaign, since founded, announced it would back Sabbahi, founder of the Popular Current, in the belief he would be the frontrunner candidate,” the statement mentioned.

Amr Badr, coordinator of the campaign, told Al-Masry Al-Youm: “The campaign is arranging for meetings with the political parties of the National Salvation Front and other political movements.”

“The political parties have no time to waste as the presidential elections may be held before the parliamentary elections,” Badr added.
