Prosecution launches investigation into abuse accusation at Daqahlia school

Minyat al-Nasr Prosecution in Egypt’s Daqahlia governorate launched on Tuesday an investigation into accusations that the Director of the joint al-Genaina Preparatory School had sexually harassed and molested a 15-year-old female student.

The student and her father, who runs a construction company, filed a complaint at the police station on Monday over the incident, accusing the school’s director of harassing the girl, touching her body, and kissing her in his office.

The police station filed a report on the case and referred it to the prosecution after the school director confessed to the assault.

Meanwhile, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in Daqahlia Ali Abdel Raouf has dismissed the school director from his position and canceled his contract with al-Genaina Preparatory School.

Governor of Daqahlia Ayman Mokhtar also moved to suspend the director from pursuing work at any other school for three months, adding that he is prepared to take legal measures against him.
