Dozens of activists and friends of Mohamed Qorany, who was killed during clashes in front of the Ettehadiya Presidential Palace on Friday, demonstrated in front of his house in the Marriotteya area of Haram on Monday.
The protesters demanded justice for the slain activist's death, and that the interior minister be fired and put on trial.
They held photographs of Qorany, better known as Christie, and raised banners with slogans against the Muslim Brotherhood and the Ministry of Interior. They also chanted slogans against President Mohamed Morsy.
Christie died after he was reportedly shot in the neck and chest during Friday's violence. Dr. Imad al-Deeb Abdallah, chief forensic assistant, said the preliminary report indicates that the activist died as a result of the birdshot wounds, but claimed that the type of weapon used could not be identified as no weapons were found at the scene.
