Russian President Vladimir Putin said at his meeting with the Egyptian ministers of defense and foreign affairs in Moscow on Thursday that Russia and Egypt have promising prospects for cooperation in large-scale projects.
He added in remarks quoted on the Russia Today website that he hopes both countries would overcome the recession that affected trade between them last year and reach a new level of US$5 billion.
He also hoped that Russian tourists visit Egypt again, as tourism from Russia dropped last year from 2.4 million tourists to 1.5 million only.
