Qandil: 70 percent of Cabinet ministers have been chosen

Prime Minister Hesham Qandil said at a news conference Sunday that 70 percent of the Cabinet has been decided, adding that he was in ongoing discussions about the remaining ministers.

Speaking at the General Investment Authority, Qandil said the discussions dragged out because more than one candidate has been suggested for each ministry, and each candidate must be evaluated.

Consultations continued today over the position of deputy prime minister of economic affairs.
A Cabinet source said Monday that Qandil went to the presidential headquarters to present President Mohamed Morsy a list of candidates for ministerial positions.

The source told Al-Masry Al-Youm that Morsy requested replacements for some candidates, leading a delay in announcing the new ministers.
