Qasim Storm hits Alexandria on Wednesday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects that Wednesday will witness cold weather at night and early morning, moderate temperatures during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, Lower Egypt, the North Coast and northern Upper Egypt, and warm weather in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

The EMA warned of morning mist in areas of agricultural and express roads and those close to water bodies.

Weather maps revealed light to moderate rains areas of the northwestern coasts and the northern part of Lower Egypt at intermittent intervals.

The Qasim Storm is scheduled to start on Wednesday and continue for five consecutive days, according to the Alexandria Port Authority schedule, as it is known as one of the most difficult storm of winter, due to the heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and turbulence at sea.

Qasim Storm is known as one of the most famous autumn storms in Alexandria and the northern coasts of Egypt.

It was given this name in connection with the name of Sheikh Qasim, who was famous for the timing of this storm being linked to the sinking of a commercial ship that was owned by him.
