Queen Mathilde of Belgium is currently visiting Aswan city, Upper Egypt for a three-day tourism visit accompanied by the Belgian royal family during the New Year’s vacation, which she will spend in Aswan and Luxor.
The Queen’s visit to Aswan saw tight security measures and closure of some streets to traffic during the Queen’s movement.
The Queen and her family arrived on charter flight to Aswan airport directly before going to the residence at the historic Old Cataract hotel amid high security.
The program for the Queen’s visit includes the Philae Temple, the High Dam, the unfinished obelisk, the Temple of Kom Ombo and the Temple of Edfu.
