Retrial of two activists in Shura Council case adjourned to 20 June

Cairo Criminal Court, headed by Judge Hassan Farid, adjourned on Monday the retrial of Abdel Rahman Sayed Mohamed and Tarek Abdel Rahman, in the case known in the media as the "Shura Council case" to 20 June.
 
The two defendants, who were sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison, have challenged the ruling.
 
They face charges of assauling a police officer and seizing his radio, staging an unauthorized protest, blocking the road, illegal assembly and destroying public property.
 
Cairo Criminal Court, headed by Jodge Farid, has sentenced Alaa Abdel Fattah and another activist to 5 years in prison and a fine of LE100,000. 18 other defendants were sentenced to 3 years in prison and a LE100,000 fine each.
