The Russian Kamaz automotive company told Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour at the Petersburg International Economic Forum that it is willing to produce heavy duty trucks and buses in collaboration with the private sector in Egypt.
Abdel Nour invited the company to come to Egypt in the fall to discuss the matter and suggested the project be funded by the Russian Direct Investment Fund, as well as other Arab funds.
He said the government has taken measures to improve the investment climate, thereby making Egypt the most attractive investment destination in Africa in 2014.
