Salah becomes the top African goalscorer in Champions League history

Egypt’s football superstar Mohamed Salah has become the top African scorer in the history of the Champions League after his goal on Thursday against Bologna.

Salah led his team, Liverpool, to a 2-0 victory over Bologna in the second round of the Champions League group stage at Anfield.

With the goal in the 75th minute, Salah became the top African scorer in Champions League history with 45 goals, surpassing Ivorian Didier Drogba who had 44.

The Egyptian Pharaoh’s latest goal was the 217th in his career with the English club.

The first goal of the match came in the 11th minute from Alexis Mac Allister, following a skillful cross from Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool had previously opened their Champions League campaign with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Italian rivals AC Milan at the San Siro stadium.
