Sawiris family tops Arab world’s billionaires Forbes list

The year 2022 did not pass unnoticed for the Arab region, especially for oil-importing countries such as Egypt and Lebanon.

But despite difficult economic conditions that the region has been going through, families in Egypt and Lebanon topped the list for the five richest families in the Arab world.

Forbes list of the five richest Arab families

1-The Sawiris Family

Although the Sawiris family has incurred a loss of about US$800 million since the release of the Forbes Billionaires List for 2022 last April, it topped the Forbes list of the five richest Arab families, with an estimated fortune of $11.2 billion.

2-The Mikati Family

The Lebanese Mikati family, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and his brother Taha, came in second place with a net worth of $5.6 billion, after losing $800 million in nine months.
