Al-Badeel online newspaper reported Friday that American actor Sean Penn participated in the "Friday of Reclaiming the Revolution" in Tahrir Square. Penn reportedly appeared holding the Egyptian flag and was accompanied by Egyptian actor Khaled al-Nabawy.
The newspaper added that Penn received a standing ovation from protesters.
Penn is among the most prominent Hollywood actors who adopts political views that are often against US foreign policy. He strongly opposed former US President George W. Bush's decision to invade Iraq.
