The Suez Gulf and the Red Sea will witness in the coming hours the start of the al-Hossoum seasonal storm which will occur over a period of approximately seven days, said the Suez chief of fishermen Aboul Hassan.
The seasonal storm will be accompanied by dust and there will be a southwesterly wind. The weather will be unstable, Aboul Hassan mentioned, warning fishermen and private boats from operating in the Red Sea or the Gulf of Suez during the storm.
Waves will rise beyond 3 and a half meters in the open sea and currents will be fast, which requires caution when sailing. It is preferable to suspend sailing for the time being, Hassan said.
The storm may also affect some parts of the Mediterranean Sea.
