Seven people killed, 4 injured in train-car collision

Seven people were killed and four others were injured on Thursday evening in a collision between a train and a car as the latter was crossing the railway on Zagazig-Meet Ghamr road.

Head of Daqahlia Security Directorate Fafel Ammar received a notification informing him of the accident, after which security authorities moved to the scene of the accident.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Daqahlia Saad Mekky said that Meet Ghamr Hospital has received four patients involved in the collision. Injuries suffered by the victims included post-concussion syndrome, sporadic bruising, a fracture of the left forearm, suspected bleeding in the brain and abdomen, a fracture in the left leg, a traumatic wound on the forehead with bruising on the upper right eye, and a suspected skull fracture, Mekky added. 

An unidentified 3-year-old child with suspected cerebral hemorrhage, bleeding in the chest cavity and bruising was also admitted to the hospital, in addition to a 7-year-old child who died on arrival, according to Mekky.
