The website of state-run Al-Ahram newspaper reported today that Prime Minister Essam Sharaf has met with Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, head of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), to discuss the storming of the Israeli Embassy yesterday.

It said Sharaf left the cabinet building today for the SCAF headquarters in Abbasiya accompanied by members of the Higher Ministerial Committee for Crises, which held a meeting this morning to discuss the incident.

The website said that Sharaf, Tantawi and ministers will discuss the repercussions of yesterday's violence and take measures to avoid its repetition.

The Coalition of Egypt's Revolutionaries, a group of young Egyptians, issued a statement on Saturday morning that held Sharaf's cabinet responsible for protesters storming the embassy.
The statement said the cabinet's feeble stance on the killing of five Egyptian security personnel by Israeli forces last month triggered anger.

The website said that Sharaf met last night with a number of revolutionary forces and youth coalitions to discuss the possibilty of himself and his cabinet resigning.
