Egyptian actress and singer Sherine Abdel-Wahab commented on rumors that she is engaged in a love affair after separating from her ex-husband, singer Hossam Habib.
Abdel-Wahab’s lawyer, Hossam Lotfy, published a statement saying: “Abdel-Wahab follows what is being circulated in news about her relationships with her friends, from inside and outside the artistic community, and warns against cramming her name or the name of any of her friends in false news, with the intention of gaining media views and follow-ups on social media websites.”
The statement added: “The artist threatens anyone who engages in (rumors about) her life with the aim of insulting her and distracting her from pursuing her artistic career with new things in singing. The artist has assigned her legal advisor to pursue those seeking fame (spreading rumors on her) with appropriate and firm measures to stop them from doing what they are doing.”
“She confirms that her friendships are free from suspicion and interpretations, and that her fans deserve her great effort to put out new songs, as she is currently only occupied with her art.”
An amicable divorce
Egyptian TV host Amr Adib confirmed back in December that singer and actress Sherine Abdel-Wahab and artist Hossam Habib have filed for divorce, after a rocky marriage that lasted over five years.
The divorce between Abdel-Wahab and Habib was done calmly and gracefully, Adib added.
Abdel-Wahab deleted all photos she had with Habib on her Instagram page.
The singer had previously revealed her cooperation with Habib on a project, announced during her participation in the “Masterpieces of Mogy” concert.
She said: “There is work soon that will bring me and Hossam together, and in order to create something nice and beautiful art, it will certainly take time, so that it will be something new and different.”
