Investigations by authorities have revealed further details into Sherine Abdel-Wahab’s lawsuit against her ex-husband Hossam Habib, accusing him of assault.
Habib confessed before the Public Prosecution office in New Cairo on Saturday.
“I did not imagine being a party to the quarrel, but I was defending Abdel-Wahab’s daughter because of something that happened, and I intervened to break up a quarrel between them,” he told them.
Habib urged the Public Prosecution to hear the testimony of Abdel-Wahab’s daughter and to her statements about the incident.
Abdel-Wahab filed a report at the Fifth Settlement Police Department accusing her ex-husband of stealing her phone and money from her bag after assaulting her inside an apartment used as a studio in the First Settlement area.
She said in the police report that she went to the apartment she owns, which was being used as a studio for recording her songs, and found Habib there waiting for her.
The singer asked him to return the money she had given him to equip the studio, but he took her phone and beat her severely, leaving her with injuries all over her body.
