Sherine Abdel-Wahab responds to statements from former attorney

Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel-Wahab has responded to a statement by her former attorney, Yasser Qantoush, in which he called on Culture Minister to quickly intervene to monitor her health and psychological condition.

Speaking exclusively to Al-Masry Al-Youm, Abdel-Wahab said, “From this moment, Mr. Yasser, a statement will be issued stating that you are not my lawyer.”

“And if you say anything about me, good or bad, it will be held against you. So don’t hold a press conference and go out and talk about Sherine Abdel-Wahab. Any word or action will be held against you.”

Qantoush, Abdel-Wahab’s former official spokesperson and personal lawyer, revealed in a statement that he was ending his role as her legal advisor.

“In light of the fallacies and unfortunate events that the artist is experiencing, and because of a person who has turned her life into hell ever since she met him, Sherine has endured a lot over the past years, despite her kindness. However, difficult circumstances continue to haunt her,” he explained.

He added that he often intervened late at night to save her, but this time he was shocked to find the same person next to her during a phone call, confirming that he heard his voice, and that the connection was cut off after she turned off her phone.

“I immediately assigned three of my lawyer colleagues to go to her home to check on her. They actually saw this person there, while she appeared to be behaving oddly. Instead of being reassured, she yelled at the lawyers who tried to help her.”

He emphasized that he had repeatedly advised Sherine to travel and stay away from this person to protect her health, but she had refused.

He noted that despite his success in many cases on her behalf, the current situation was beyond his scope as a lawyer.

“Out of concern for her health and life, I call on the Culture Minister to quickly intervene and contact the Health Ministry to appoint a medical committee to monitor her condition and keep her away from those seeking to destroy her psychologically and physically. My role as her legal advisor has ended, and I wish her success in the future. O God, I have conveyed the message, O God, bear witness,” Qantoush concluded.
