Shooting on ‘Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo’ wraps up

Shooting on “Seeking Haven for Mr.Rambo“, the debut feature film of acclaimed short-film director Khaled Mansour, has concluded.

Set to be released this summer, the film tells the story of Hassan, who finds himself seeking justice for his dog Rambo whose life is in peril after he becomes the target of not only his neighbor Karim but even the authorities as well – forcing Hassan to find a safe haven for his best friend.

Actor Essam Omar also marks his debut as a lead actor in this project, which features the likes of Sharmoofers co-founder Ahmed Bahaa and Rakin Saad.

With production aided by the Red Sea Film Foundation, producer Mohamed Hefzy and film critic Rasha Hosny have helped bring the project to life, which will see worldwide distribution thanks to Film Clinic Indie Distribution.

The screenplay, written by both Mansour and screenwriter Mohamed al-Hosseiny, was also made with the help of the French Film Development Program organized as part of the Cannes Film Festival, the Beirut Cinema Platform, and the Cinematic Films Development Workshop in Egypt, alongside development grants from the Arab Fund for Culture and Arts Afac for Long Narrative Film Development and the El Gouna Film Platform.

Mansour’s previous short films, such as “Berries Island” (2018), have been part of various international festivals.
