Shortage in butane gas cylinders continues in Daqahlia

The butane gas cylinders crisis in Daqahlia has worsened as scuffles have broken out between black market dealers and citizens in many areas north of the governorate.

Dozens of citizens queued in lines holding the empty butane gas cylinders for five hours in Meet Selseel in Daqahlia in front of warehouses.

In the villages of Fishabna and al-Ders, hundreds of residents protested the shortage in butane gas cylinders for 15 days and shutting down the warehouses.

In Matariya, hundreds of citizens gathered and quarreled to receive the LPG cylinders.

In Belqas, residents threatened to block roads saying they have not received butane gas cylinders for 15 days.

Sources at the Supply Ministry stressed shortage in the butane gas cylinders as Daqahlia governorate quota was down with over 30,000 cylinders and the demand of citizens increased due to cold weather and the high prices of electricity.
