A Russian teenager from Siberia has sold her virginity in an auction on the Internet for more than US$27,000.
The British newspaper ‘The Mirror’ has quoted a Russian local newspaper as saying that the girl was in urgent need for money.
The local paper said the 18-year-old girl said on the website 24au.ru that she is willing to prove her virginity.
“I can come to a hotel with a document proving my virginity,” she wrote. “Someone will come with me to take the money in cash so as not to con me.”
The auction ended with 900,000 rubles, equivalent of US$27,950.
Police did not object to the auction, saying the deal does not violate the law.
