Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab said the Cabinet will not include once again an information ministry and that the national media council will take over the responsibilities of the ministry to oversee the Egyptian Radio and Television Union in accordance with the new Constitution , according to State Information Service(SIS).
In an interview with the Egyptian TV on Friday, Mahlab stressed the importance of the media, saying that it "should be characterized by high credibility."
He said the media should be responsible and avoid broadcasting rumors.
