Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his UAE counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan witnessed on Friday the launch of the Ras al-Hikma development project.
The event was held in the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and prominent businessmen from both the Egyptian and Emirati sides.
During the project launch, the two presidents watched a visual presentation on the project’s objectives and components, and its great economic, investment, real estate, tourism and environmental importance.
The two presidents also listened to an explanation of the region’s features, integrated services, and development and economic opportunities provided by the project.
And they witnessed the signing of contracts between Egyptian and Emirati companies to begin work on the project.
The two presidents expressed their appreciation to those in charge of implementing the project from both sides during the past period, stressing its importance in strengthening economic and investment relations between both nations as it represents a model of constructive development partnership between Egypt and UAE.
Both leaders also witnessed the launch of a partnership by international, Egyptian and Emirati companies to enhance the innovation process in the smart electric vehicle sector in the Middle East and North Africa.
