Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Monday received the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Noble Energy, David Stover, a US company specialized in the exploration of natural gas.
Spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency Bassam Rady said that the meeting discussed prospects for developing Noble Energy’s activity in Egypt. Petroleum Minister Tarek al-Mulla and several Noble Energy officers were present at the meeting.
President Sisi welcomed the company’s officials and highlighted the positive international reputation that characterizes the company in its professional approach, meeting the highest international standards in the implementation of its activities.
He pointed out the distinguished relations of cooperation and strategic partnership between Egypt and the US, expressing the aspiration to strengthen these ties to further contribute to the achieving common development goals.
Rady said that President Sisi ordered to continue coordination and cooperation with Noble Energy and ease over any obstacles that tit may face in order to continue to strengthen the efforts of research, discoveries and production of natural gas in Egypt.
Stover on his end praised Egypt’s ambitious vision for achieving comprehensive economic development, according to Rady.
He added that Egypt is at the forefront of the countries where that the US company is interested in developing investments, in light of the current positive investment climate in the country and the great potential of Egypt’s energy sector.
Stover stated that Egypt possesses all the necessary elements for the success in this field, such as its geographical location and discoveries in oil and gas, infrastructure developed from the pipeline network for the transfer of gas and liquefaction plants, and ongoing regional cooperation projects to link and transport gas.
