Sisi meets with Sudan’s transitional military council head

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi held bilateral talks  with the head of Sudan’s transitional military council Abdel Fattah Burhan, during a meeting on Saturday attended by Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shoukry and Egypt’s Chief of the General Intelligence Service Abaas Kamel.

Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady stated that Sisi hailed Burhan’s visit to Egypt, which reflect the links connecting the people of the Nile Valley, their united destinies and the common interest binding the two countries.

Radi said that Sisi discussed the recent developments in Sudan, stressing that Egypt supports Sudan’s stability and security as well as the free will of Sudanese people in a way that would preserve Sudan’s state institutions.

The President added that Egypt was keen on cooperating with Sudan in all fields and referred to importance of the solidarity of regional and international efforts aiming to help Sudan face its economic crisis.

Burhan for his part emphasized the rapprochement between Egypt and Sudan, praised the close cooperation between the two countries and the support offered by Egypt to the Sudanese people.
