President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi put a wreath at the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier in Nasr City on Thursday morning just a few days before the 41st anniversary of the 1973 war.
Leaders from the armed forces were also present.
Sisi also shook hands with Jihan al-Sadat, wife of late President Anwar al-Sadat and her son Gamal Al-Sadat, who were at the event.
