Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb is heading to Russia on 7 February for a meeting with his counterpart Dmitry Medvedev, Al-Masry Al-Youm has learned.
Mehleb will discuss a range of issues with his Russian counterpart, including the import of liquefied natural gas to offset rising local demand, sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm.
The prime minister will also discuss wheat imports after Russia’s decision to impose fees on grain imports.
The meeting will also discuss preparations for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Egypt, expected for March, when he is scheduled to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and sign a number of agreements.
Mehleb is expected to invite major Russian companies to invest in Egypt and attend the economic summit Egypt is holding from 13 to 15 March in Sharm el-Sheikh.
