Stock exchange drops 0.95%; dealing exceeds LE3.5 billion

A day after the stock exchange saw a rise in its index, it dropped again Wednesday by 0.95 percent. The EGX 30 index shed 59 points to close at 6198 points, its dealings in total exceeding LE3.5 billion.

On another note, Investment Authority President Ossama Saleh said his authority supports all Egyptian investors when asked to comment on Orascom Telecom’s dispute with the Algerian government. "But we do not volunteer to interfere," he said. "Investors can resort to investment protection agreements signed between Egypt and other countries if they fail to resolve disputes themselves."
