Unknown assailants on Thursday abducted a primary school student from in front of the gates of his school in Assiut.
The parents gathered at the school and took their children home in protest against the lack of proper security.
Studies have meanwhile been suspended at the school.
Masked men abducted Michael Nabil Saad, a first primary school student, from Bani Oday al-Baharia School and put him in a car before fleeing.
